Today, OnePlus community announced the Oxygen OS 2.1.4 for the OnePlus One device. This means that the manufacturer has not abandoned support for its first phone, just yet. Although it’s an official firmware, OnePlus One users won’t be receiving the update over the air as it is a community-sourced project. You will have to go through the flashing procedure manually. The Oxygen OS 2.1.4 update contains all the updates released for the OnePlus 2, except for some features like MaxxAudio and relevant apps, the manual camera mode, RAW file format capability, fingerprint support (obviously), and the screen temperature slider, that the device doesn’t need anyways.

However, features like Dark Mode, custom icon packs, choose the accent color, App Permissions feature, double tap to wake and all the other gestures you know and love can be toggled in the settings. Hit the download section below and you will find the latest Oxygen OS for your device. A Patcher for the OS has also been listed that will help you flash the ROM easily. We also have listed the installation instructions for Windows and Mac users.

The update is a community-sourced project and the OnePlus forum moderator has listed the required files and installation instructions for it. It requires a special patcher tool. Go through the instructions from this tutorial. Your device should be on the stock firmware with stock recovery. It will perform a clean flash wiping all the apps and data from the system. Do not, in any case, flash it through TWRP recovery. You may corrupt your radio and IMEI functionality. Instructions below assume you are currently running OxygenOS or COS12 and above. This may not work for rooted devices.

Warning: We at AndroidSage won’t be liable for any damage to your Android device whatsoever. We won’t be held responsible if you brick your device. Backup and go through all the requirements carefully. Reader’s discretion is advised.
