List of Samsung devices receiving Android 7.0 Nougat firmware update
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge devices have already received the Android 7.0 Nougat firmware update with firmware build PLN. The Nougat firmware has been renamed to the Samsung Experience 8 instead of the prior TouchWiz since the Beta 4 update. Moreover, the Galaxy S7 (Edge) OTA has been rolling out since last couple of weeks and is now available for countries like the UK and other European countries like Czech Republic, Netherlands, etc. Now, Samsung has listed the names of Galaxy smartphone range to first receive the latest Android 7.0 Nougat firmware. These include some of the new and premium devices like Galaxy S6 (edge) and S6 edge Plus, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Tab A with S Pen, Galaxy Tab S2 (LTE unlock), Galaxy A3, and Galaxy A8. Android 7.0 Nougat will be expanded to additional countries on the following devices within the first half of this year: Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge and S6 edge Plus, Galaxy Note5, Galaxy Tab A with S Pen, Galaxy Tab S2 (LTE unlock), Galaxy A3, and Galaxy A8.

- Samsung Galaxy S6
- Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
- Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus
- Samsung Galaxy Note 5
- Samsung Galaxy Tab A with S Pen

- Samsung Galaxy A3
- Samsung Galaxy A8
Other new devices like Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016), Galaxy J7 (2016), Galaxy A9 (Pro), Galaxy A8 variants, etc may also receive Nougat update this year. However, this will happen only when the Nougat OTA has successfully been deployed to the above-listed devices. As J5 and J7 are budget phones and still in the support period, the phones will surely receive the Nougat OTA.

What are the new features in Samsung Galaxy Nougat OTA update?
- Quick Panel and Notifications – The Quick Panel, as shown above, has been revamped with a cleaner design.  Tiles have been removed from the panel. You get Nougat like notifications and you can also support Direct Reply. Notifications have been grouped to display information more clearly.
- Multi Window – This feature has been improved to easily adjust in split screen view. Now supports up to seven apps at the same time.
- Performance Mode – The Performance Mode lets users optimize the Nougat firmware for better battery life, speed or performance improvements, Game mode provides and much more.
- Samsung Pass – Samsung Pass comes to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Use their fingerprint scanner to log into websites and apps.
We have seen the Galaxy S7 (Edge) SM-G930F/FD, G935F/FD Nougat update – which are the international variants. The Odin flashable files are also available. Moreover, the S7 Edge apps and features have also been ported to other devices.
