Android Wear 2.0 update for Fossil Q MARSHAL and Q FOUNDER [OTA Download]

The Android Wear 2.0 update is now live for the Fossil Q Founder and the Q Marshal. The OTA download links are also live from Android’s official AOSP repository page. This new update makes the Fossil to be the second manufacturer after LG to release the latest Android Wear 2.0. Earlier this month, LG released a similar update to the LG Watch Urbane and LG Watch R. Today, Fossil has stepped into the Android Wear 2.0 update based on latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat firmware. OTA updates for wearable technologies is mostly released via Google servers.

Unlike Android phones, the wearable watches does not come with a factory image or a full stock firmware. The only way to update your Fossil Android watch is via OTA zip files. Fortunately, the OTA download links are up and are listed below. The update procedure is also very simple.

The Fossil Android variant has come a long way from the previous Android Wear 1.5 based on 6.0.1 Marshmallow to the current Nougat update. It brings many new features and stability improvements.

The following links are direct OTA download links to the Fossil Android watches. The OTA packages come in a package of 350 MB and 300 MB respectively. The Wanderer is yet to receive the Android Wear 2.0 OTA.

In order to update the Fossil Q MARSHAL and Fossil Q FOUNDER to ANdorid 7.1.1 Nougat, simply grab the OTA zip files from above and install them via ADB sideload method listed here.
