MIUI 9 is the most awaited update for Xiaomi users. The confirmed launch for the update is set to take place on 26th July 2017 in Beijing. It is the most talked about upcoming firmware upgrade for the big Xiaomi community. As per the previews, the MIUI 9 has a decent looking user interface making it more materialistic. The firmware is claimed to be very light weight which will let it run on any Xiaomi phone with minimum to no lag whatsoever. The transition is claimed to be very smooth as compared to the MIUI 8 or previous firmware updates. The wallpapers, icons, quick settings, settings apps, etc have been revamped.

As per the official statement by Xiaomi resource team, MIUI 9 comes with additional 3 new themes over the default theme. In one of the themes you will find circular icons making each icon unique. In the default theme, you will find the square icons. You will also find a Dock design change in MIUI 9 as compared to MIUI 8. Moreover, in the “Customization” option in MIUI Theme app, you will find tons of settings to personalize.
