Resurrection Remix 5.8.5 Pre-Oreo build for all Android devices

Resurrection Remix is being updated to latest v5.8.5 with a final Nougat build. Yes, this is the last update for the Android 7.1.2 Nougat and after this you will only receive the 8.0.0 Oreo builds. A lot of custom ROM maintainers and developers are now deploying the final builds of the Nougat update. Custom ROMS maintainers like Lineage OS 15, Paranoid Android, have already declared final Nougat updates. Lineages OS have started the development of Android 8.0.0 Oreo based ROMS. Though the release date is unknow, we anticipate it to roll out within a month.

Resurrection Remix 5.8.5 is a pre-build to support the next Oreo OTA update. Apart from that, it consists of September 2017 Security Patch level. It is still based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat. However, it features lot of bug fixes, stability and performance improvements, Added PA color engine, pocket mode improvements, and much more. Check out the RR ROM v5.8.5 changelog from below:

As we know, the Resurrection Remix is based on Lineage OS sources which LOS has already released. So it won’t take long before we see the first RR Oreo ROM. Moreover, we have already seen September security patch based on Oreo form AOSP for several Google Pixel and Nexus phones.

The above are codenames for the Android devices, If you are confused about your device’s code name, check out the names from the previous list or RR here.

As RR ROMS support a lot of Android devices, not all the devices will receive the v5.8.5 update at once. There are only a few phones like OnePlus 3/3T, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, etc. with the latest version. However, visit the following links for the builds will be updated there.

How to install Resurrection Remix 5.8.5?

Make sure you have the latest TWRP recovery installed with unlocked Bootloader on your Android device. Once that is done, check out this tutorial on how to flash custom ROMS via TWRP.

You will also need the latest Gapps for the Android 7.1.2 Nougat SDK 25. There are several versions available including arm, arm64, x86.
