AT&T Samsung Galaxy Express Prime Receives Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update [J320AUCU3BQI5]
We are almost mid-way into October and came across a lot of firmware updates from Samsung. But there is no sign of latest security patches of October, not even of September security patch.Although firmware updates are mostly of September build and some of October build but security patches goes all the way back to August. Samsung is still rolling firmware for Blueborne vulnerability. Amidst all this, there are also a few Android OS platform updates being rolled out. Currently, Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for AT&T Galaxy Express Prime is rolling.
This update brings the firmware build number to the US variants of the T-mobile Samsung Galaxy Express Prime. The update brings the much expected Android Nougat update. This update weighs 1GB in size. It’s interesting to note that this update is a straight leap to 7.1.1 Nougat. There is no 7.0 Nougat. Apart from OS update, it brings other regular updates and system enhancements. The update is rolling in waves as OTA(over-the-air) update. In a regular way, as it happens, the OTA update will roll to your device and the device will catch and install it. Then your device will be upgraded.
You can also manually perform the check if the firmware update is being available for your service.
To do so
- go to your device’s Settings > About device> System Updates.Â
- Tap check for updates.
- If it is available, download and install it.
Note:- Before downloading the OTA,
- Fully charge Your device to avoid power outage interruption as updating process will take some time to complete.
- Use a Wi-Fi network to download the update as it around 1GB in size.

To manually install the update, You have to use another software called the Odin Tool.
You already downloaded the firmware in the above section. Then extract the TAR file from it . Then open Odin Tool and put the TAR file in the AP section in Odin Tool. Then you start installing the update.
