Samsung Galaxy A5 Receives October 2017 Security Update
Finally, Samsung successfully rolled out the October 2017 security patch. We all saw how Bluetooth vector Blueborne vulnerability completely halted the September 2017 security update. The whole of September there were only firmware updates to fence against Blueborne. Well, finally it seems Samsung has managed to lock down the Blueborne threat. Also, it was pretty much intuitive that since there was no September security update, Samsung would leap forward to rollout October security update. Now, that’s what happened. Samsung rolled out the October security patch for Galaxy A5 (2016/2017). Both the Galaxy A5 of 2016 and 2017 become the first device to receive October 2017 security update.
This brings the firmware build number A510FXXU4CQJ1 and A520FXXS2BQIJ for the Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A5 (2017) respectively. This update is quite lighter one, weighing around 27 MB. It is based on Android 7.0 Nougat. Since the update is rolled out Over-The-Air, so, it might take a while to reach your device.
