Oxygen OS 5.1.7 for OnePlus 5/5T HotFix: Supports Project Treble, and October 2018 Security Patch

Updated November 10, 2018: Oxygen OS 5.1.7 is now available for download for OnePlus 5 and 5T with a Hotfix update to fix Bluetooth stability issue reported on OOS 5.1.6. The OTA updates have listed in the downloads section for the OnePlus 5 and 5T.

Last year’s huge success flagships, OnePlus 5 and 5T, are now receiving another major OTA update. This new update brings official support for Project Treble. This is a great deal because now you can sideload a Android 9.0 Pie Generic System Image onto your device and get the latest Google Pixel like Experience right on. We only had the Treble support for the OnePlus 5/5T under the Open Beta channel previously. Now, the treble is available on the stable channel as well. So download the latest Oxygen OS 5.1.6 for OnePlus 5 and 5T.

The OTA is still based on the previous Android 8.1 Oreo firmware and not the latest Android 9.0 based on OxygenOS 9.0. As the manufacturer says, it may take a few months before Android 9.0 Pie is polished for the two devices and released officially. We can first expect the Android Pie update to the Open Beta channel first. So stay tuned.

Apart from Project Treble support, the OxygenOS 5.1.6 features latest October 2018 Security Patch level. It also fixes the bug where the VOLTE for IDEA carrier in India was not set as Default On. We can also expect improved Bluetooth stability for phone calls.
