List of Samsung Galaxy Devices receiving 3 Android OS Upgrades

Samsung promised 3 years of Android OS upgrades in their recent Galaxy unpacked event where the OEM launched a new flagship phone called the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra. This means Galaxy S20 series and the Note 20 series, that launched with Android 10, will now receive Android 11, 12, and 13 OS updates.

With several backlash from the Samsung community, the manufacturer finally settled for 3 generations of Android OS upgrades; finally confirming the news in their press release here. Starting Galaxy S10 series, Note 10 series, and some A series devices including the Galaxy A71 5G, A51 5G, and A90 5G will all receive the next 3 Android OS upgrades in total. That means Galaxy S10 series will only receive Android Android 11 and Android 12, because it already got Android 10 last year.

However, this only applies to the newer Samsung smartphones starting Galaxy S10 and above. It’s really disappointing to know that Samsung’s most popular smartphones like the Galaxy S8, and Galaxy S9 won’t get Android 10 or Android 11 respectively. The Galaxy S8 really set the bar on the top when the smartphone launched. But got very little liking from the OEM.
