A new Apple Event 2021 is taking place right now which will feature the next-generation iPhone 13 series. Apple has unveiled two iPads so far. One is a traditional iPad 2021 featuring an older case but renewed internals. The other is iPad Mini featuring a thin bezel design similar to the iPad Air 2020; but in a smaller size. The traditional iPad 2021 features iPad OS 15 powered by A13 Bionic SoC delivering performance significantly as compared to the A12 Bionic chipset. It has an upgraded image signal processor for better photos. The front camera gets a big upgrade to 12MP ultra wide with 122º field of view with Center Stage. It also comes with True Tone display feature.

As for the iPad Mini, it is the smallest Apple tablet ever with a display size of 8.3 inches. It has smaller bezels similar to last year’s iPad Air 4. Some of the features of iPad Mini are Wide color, antireflective, 500 nits of brightness. Touch ID is in power button just like iPad Air.

Most importantly, it supports 5G on cellular models with download speeds up to 3.5 Gbps. While its not clear which SoC Apple fit in the iPad Mini, the iPhone maker did mention a performance boost of 40% jump in CPU and 80% leap in GPU. Neural Engine up 2x faster, delivers next-level experiences like real-time translation. The iPad Mini also supports USB-C port instead of the traditional Lightning.

As for the cameras, it supports a 12MP rear camera sensor with focus pixels and f/1.8 aperture. True Tone flash, enhanced ISP with Smart HDR, records in 4K. Front camera has the 12MP ultra wide with Center Stage.
