Apple unveiled iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro series smartphones in the “Far Out” launch event today. The iPhone maker unveiled launched a range of products including the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max alongside the most anticipated Airpods Pro and the Apple Watch Series 8. Apple dropped the entry-level Mini variant and categorized the new smartphones into the iPhone 14 series and the iPhone 14 Pro series. We got a new iPhone 14 Plus this time with a larger screen and stunning specifications.

The new Apple smartphones come in two variants a 6.1-inch iPhone 14 model and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus starting at just $799.

Some key features of iPhone 14 (Plus) include:

  • 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display sizes
  • iOS 16
  • Updated internal design for thermal performance
  • Super Retina XDR OLED display
  • Ceramic shield
  • Aerospace-grade Aluminum
  • A15 Bionic chipset

So the same design as the iPhone 13 series with a couple of new and exclusive features.

The regular iPhone 14 series has the same design as last year. Same A15 bionic SoC. 5 colors with a new blue addition. Upgraded camera system with larger sensor and wider aperture. New 12mp selfie camera with autofocus.

Meanwhile, a significant design shift happened for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The smartphones feature a new selfie camera cutout in the shape of a pill which can be converted to Pill + Hole and a tray. It houses the Face ID components and a second circular cutout for the front-facing camera. Apple calls this system the Dynamic Island.

Apple also launched the next-gen Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Pro. The Apple Watch 8 Ultra was the main highlight of the launch event. The Watch Ultra received the biggest upgrade so far due to its larger form factor and new, sturdy titanium design.

The new iPhones will receive iOS 16, watchOS 9, and tvOS 16 during this event. These updates are likely to be released the week of September 12, while iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura and slated to be released in October.

iPhone 14 (Plus) Specifications

The entry-level iPhone 14 features a smallest screen size of 6.1 inch OLED Display. (460 ppi) Whereas, the new addition called the iPhone 14 Plus has a larger screen size of 6.7″.
