Google Camera 8.2 includes essential features like Night Mode, Astrophotography Mode with Time Lapse, and HDR+. It enhances video recording by allowing you to press and hold the shutter button to zoom in or out by sliding your finger. You can lock the video to keep recording until you interact with it, and sliding your finger left or right will zoom in or out.

The update also brings a very useful enhancement while taking videos. You can now press and hold the shutter button, while in video mode, and slide your finger to either zoom in/out or even lock the video recording. So if you slide your finger to left, it will zoom. If you side it down, it will lock the video recording for hands-free mode. Once you’ve locked the recording, you can release your finger, and the video will continue to record.

While Gcam developers have abandoned the 8.2 build, new developers, such as xenius9, have continued the tradition.

Gcam 8.2 is compatible with Samsung devices as well, tested on models like the Galaxy S23 series, S22 series, S21 Ultra, S20 FE, and S20 Ultra. There’s a separate Gcam 8.2 APK that supports Samsung, OnePlus, and other Android devices. Gcam 8.2 supports Ultrawide and Telephoto lenses, at least on the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

As for the usual features from previous versions like Google Camera 8.1 APK, they are also present like cinematic pan for videos, Night Sight in Portrait Mode, and Portrait Light.
