The latest Nothing OS 2.5.6 update introduces several new features and improvements for Phone 1, enhancing user experience and functionality. One of the key new features is the “Hide Navigation Bar,” designed to provide a more real estate on your phone.

Additionally, the interaction for editing widgets on the home screen has been optimized. Users can now long-press widgets to access shortcuts menus, making it easier to customize their home screen.

The Glyph interface also sees an improvement with the ability to swipe the brightness slider, allowing for better control of Glyph brightness settings.

The camera now supports the Ultra HDR feature, providing XDR display effects for photos, enhancing the visual quality of images. Access it using Camera settings > Ultra XDR.

In terms of improvements, the update introduces a recovery mechanism for abnormal call states, significantly improving call stability. To enhance privacy and prevent accidental touches, the screen will now stay off when the power key is pressed during an incoming call.

Furthermore, support for sending and receiving SMS over 5G has been added for certain carriers, along with VoWiFi support.

Several bug fixes are included in this update. An issue causing recording problems in WhatsApp under specific paths has been resolved.

Additionally, the problem where dialing 111 in the UK redirected to the 999 emergency number in some scenarios has been fixed. Lastly, the issue where the volume bar kept popping up when connected to car Bluetooth has also been addressed.

The update also features the latest June 2024 Security Patch and is sized at 118 MB.

How to Install Nothing OS full OTA update zip for Nothing Phone?

• Go to “Settings > About phone > Software info” to confirm that your system has been updated to the latest version (Nothing OS). If not, please go to “Settings > System > System update” to check for updates.
• Download the latest software update package.
• Create a folder named “ota” (without the quotes) at the root of the internal storage. Meaning outside every folder.
• Copy the OTA update ZIP file from above to that folder.
• Open the phone app and Dial *#*#682#*#*

• The local update tool should launch.
• In the drop-down list that appears, select the upgrade package you just copied.
• Tap the “Directly apply OTA from selection” button to start updating.
• Reboot your device after the upgrade process is complete.
• A pop-up will appear asking if you would like to reboot your device. We strongly recommend selecting “Confirm” here, as upgrades require a reboot to enter the new version.
