Android 15 complete list of bugs
As Android 15 is still in beta, it has some bugs. Thanks to user docker_604_0845, who have created a complete list of bugs found on Android 15 on their Pixel 8 Pro so far. Some are critical bugs Iand you should know before signing update for the beta.
1. Lock Screen Bugs: One of the most persistent and annoying issues is the lock screen bug. Whether trying to double-tap the camera or answer calls from the lock screen, the device consistently prompts for the PIN.
2. Camera Delays: The camera’s performance has noticeably degraded, taking longer to capture photos.
3. General Device Jitters: The overall performance of the device feels less smooth, with occasional jitters that disrupt the user experience. These jitters can occur randomly, affecting everything from scrolling to app transitions.
4. Overheating Issues: Even during simple tasks like browsing on cellular data, the device heats up considerably.
5. Battery Drain and Slow Charging: Overnight battery discharge has been significant, and the charging process is painfully slow.
6. SIM Card Ghosting: The most critical and frustrating problem is the SIM card ghosting issue. After some time, the device stops recognizing the SIM card, resulting in:
- No mobile network
- No phone number
- Missing network preference options
- Inability to make calls
Attempts to swap SIM cards or get a new one have proven futile. The only temporary workaround is to remove the SIM card tray, restart the device, and reinsert the tray during boot. This fix is short-lived, as the issue reappears shortly after.
Observations and Workarounds
During the brief window after rebooting, making a call allows it to continue for hours. However, once the call ends, the SIM card is ghosted again within a minute unless another call is made immediately.
This workaround is not sustainable, especially for those relying on their device for critical communication. As a result, many users, including myself, are backing up data and opting out of the beta program, given that the device is our primary one.
Community Feedback
The Reddit community has been actively discussing these issues, with users sharing their experiences and potential solutions. Here are some notable comments:
