Is Samsung Cloning Apple Products? Apple, Google, Samsung they all copy what’s best

Is Samsung Cloning Apple Products losing brand identity to apple

Samsung’s latest Galaxy Unpacked event from July 2024 concluded unveiling a range of products including the Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, brand new Galaxy Watch Pro and Galaxy Ring. While many took to Twitter stating that Samsung is cloning Apple products for ripping of Apple Watch Ultra and AirPods, the Foldable series and the Galaxy Ring still do not exist in the Apple ecosystem. Besides, Apple is rumored to bring a Foldable phone and a Ring like product in the market. Is that a copy?

“Copy and paste,” said Apple Hub account on Twitter, featuring side by side photos of Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch and Apple Watch alongside Samsung’s Buds3 and Apple’s AirPods.

Another user on Reddit Gaypornl0ver questioned whether Samsung is losing brand identity.

Samsung has lost brand identity

Yes, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra looks pretty close to the Apple Watch Ultra. The orange wristband including the material choice is a blatant rip-off. But overall, the squircle design has always been Samsung’s identity. The icons on Samsung software are by default set to squircle. Although, it may not be the best design choice for a watch. It could just be a desperate attempt to keep Samsung users from flocking to Apple products.

But so is Apple’s biggest software update so far — iOS 18. Let’s take a look at Apple’s new iOS 18 update, which now features icon packs, dark mode, theming, home screen personalization & customizations, widgets, and more. They have been present in Android since forever. In fact, customization, and personalization have always been at Android’s core. Apple has just accepted it.

Google recently brought the Coolwalk UI update to Android Auto featuring a new modern look and design for the car head unit. The design language and UI looks pretty similar to Apple’s popular CarPlay UI.

Here is Google’s new Coolwalk UI:

VS Apple’s CarPlay, which is a very popular design for car head units if you have an iPhone. Google soon rolled out Coolwalk after Apple’s CarPlay redesign in 2022.

These are just some examples. Competitors like Google, Samsung, Apple always copy each other’s best products or designs in a hope to attract customers towards them.

So is Samsung losing brand identity and blatantly copying Apple? No. Samsung is still innovating and bringing lots of new features. Especially in foldable smartphones, which is a whole category in itself introduced first by Samsung Electronics. Samsung display is leading the way in the smartphone display industry.

Apple is introducing features which are already in Android. Integrating AI assistants. Google copying Samsung with their own Galaxy Fold. Apple will launch a new Foldable phone or lower the selfie camera cutout to represent a punch hole like Androids. The circle goes on.
