Samsung’s June 2024 Update for Galaxy Watch Drastically Improves Battery Life
Galaxy Watch Ultra’s latest June 2024 update is a game-changer for the device’s battery life. The main focus of the update is mainly based around improving the battery life. The June update is also available for the Galaxy Watch 7 running One UI 6 Watch OA firmware update. The update is also expected to feature similar improvements across the Galaxy Watch 6 series, Watch 5, and the Watch 4 Series as well.
The latest addition to Samsung smartwatches — the Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch 7 — have now started receiving monthly updates and security patches. Although, the Ultra variants have a larger battery, the software wasn’t optimized out of the box. Users complained of the poor battery life. So the OEM released the latest update which has taken its battery performance to new heights.
The update for the Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch 7 comes with software version L705USQU1AXFB for the USA unlocked model and also available in Europe and the UK with build AXG2 and similar changelog.
According to reports, Galaxy Watch Ultra’s standby battery life has drastically improved. So sleeping with your watch overnight will only decrease the battery a few percentages. This will drastically improve your sleep score reporting. Even with sleep tracking enabled, users are seeing a battery drain of just over 1% per hour during the night. It’s clear that Samsung has made significant strides in optimizing power consumption during idle periods.
Others reported that the watch operates smoothly after the update with no lag.
It’s worth noting that the Watch Ultra comes with One UI 6.0 Watch OS out of the box. While the rest of the devices are currently ongoing a beta program for One UI 6 Watch.
