Samsung phones are experiencing a widespread bootloop issue, here is how to fix it

Some older Samsung phones are plagued by a critical boot loop issue, and it’s mainly because of an app update. It appears that the latest SmartThings Framework update is causing a lot of Samsung smartphones to enter an infinite boot loop.
This was reported by a South Korean retail owner, Omokgyo Electronics Shopping Mall, when they found that a bunch of their older smartphones entered infinite bootloop. Upon multiple follow-ups, Samsung has finally found the culprit.
Samsung Korea has issued an official statement addressing the recent boot loop problems affecting older Galaxy smartphones running Android 12. This critical issue, caused by a problematic update to the SmartThings Framework (version 2.2.02.1), has left many users unable to use their devices and concerned about potential data loss.
The good thing is the issue only impacts devices running Android 12 One UI 4 or older. But that not an excuse as many people are still holding onto their older Samsung phones running Android 12 or older including Galaxy S10 series, Note 10, Galaxy S9, S9+, Note 9, Galaxy S8, S8+, Note 8, and more.

All the more reason for an extended software update program to a minimum 5 years.

Hello. This is Beat, the owner of Omokgyo Electronics Shopping Mall. I have received an official response from Samsung Electronics regarding the phenomenon of ‘infinite booting’ occurring during an update on an older Samsung Galaxy smartphone.
Official answer: We have confirmed that an infinite booting issue is occurring when updating the latest SmartThings app on some smartphone models with older OS, such as the Galaxy S10. After confirming the issue, we immediately stopped updating the SmartThings app. Users who are experiencing inconvenience can visit a nearby service center to resolve the issue and even recover data. Many people were worried about recovering data related to this incident, but fortunately, the data itself seems to be recoverable.
However, if you are using an old mobile phone, you may forget your ID or password, and old chat history data such as KakaoTalk may be difficult to recover, so the inconvenience to users may increase.
