Update: Stable Android 15 released already? New Oxygen OS 15, possibly stable udpate rollong out to OnePlus 12 seeries for Indian, Europe, CHina, and Global variants. The update screen does not mention Closed Beta or Open Beta, suggesting it is a stable update. One community member suggest, this could be a stable beta update and may not come with AI features available for close beta testers. Users are receving this update by visiting Settings > System Updates without enrolling into beta program.

Original: OnePlus just unveiled the most anticipated Oxygen OS 15 based on latest Android 15 firmware update. This is the biggest overhaul from the last Oxygen OS 14 which featured Aquamorphic Design resembling water. According to OnePlus’ blogpost, the Open Beta program will rollout starting October 30, 2024 for device including OnePlus 12 all the way down to OnePlus 10 and OnePlus Nord CE 3. While older devices may also be eligible for Android 15 upgrade, there is no word as of now.

OxygenOS 15 Features

OnePlus has officially termed the update “Fast and Smooth” suggesting Oxygen OS 15 is focused on faster delivery, snappier experience, and no lag or stutters compared to OxygenOS 14.

OxygenOS 15 introduced Parallel Processing in animation. This ensures seamless transitions and smooth animations for more elements like widgets, components, and folders, ensuring. Additionally, system-wide swipe consistency extends to third-party apps, including WebView interfaces.

Fresh New Look

OnePlus revamped OxygenOS 15 UI with new design with new elements. The Home screen now features revamped OnePlus app icons which now have balanced colors for sharper visuals. Several system function icons have been overhauled for improved visual uniformity.

The Shelf, which shows news, weather, temperature, clock and various widgets have also been upgraded. It now offers a new user-friendly design with more card options.

The swipe gestures to access various elements of the system. Split mode provides distinct access to the notification drawer (swipe from the top left) and Quick Settings (swipe from the top right) allows you to switch between them with a left or right swipe.

Quick Settings also got an overhaul with a more visually appealing, consistent layout, and new animations.

To prevent unnecessary triggers, the system implements a 30-minute cool-down period after each detection. Note that this feature is disabled by default.

Remote Security Control
Lock your device remotely through the FindMyDevice Portal using just your phone number – no Google password required. You can activate this security measure twice per day.

Automatic Security Triggers
Your device automatically locks under specific security risks:

SIM card removal
Multiple failed unlock attempts

How to Install Oxygen OS 15?

Here is the Upgrade guide via Local OTA update

Note: This method may erase all the contents of the phone, please be sure to backup first. Some applications may be lost after upgrading or downgrading.

Download the latest ROM zip package from above.
Copy the ROM rollback package to the phone storage.
Go to Settings -> About device -> Version -> Click Build number 7 times and enter the password, now you are in the developer mode.
Go back to Settings -> About device -> Up to date -> Click the top right button -> Local install -> Click on the corresponding upgrade package -> Extract -> Upgrade -> System upgrade completed to 100%.
After the update is complete, click Restart.
Upgrade successful.
