A new update for the CMF Phone 1, running Nothing OS 2.6, just released featuring the latest October 2024 security patch. The build also improved photo quality for the selfie camera by resolving light leakage issue.

The highlight of the update is the October 2024 security patch for the CMF Phone 1. This takes the phone to the same level as the Nothing flagship Phone 2.

Apart from this, it enhanced front camera quality. The October patch addresses a “light leakage” issue that affected some users, where images captured with the front camera suffered from unwanted light effects or ghosting. This update eliminates those anomalies, resulting in crisper and clearer selfies, even in challenging lighting conditions.

In previous versions, users reported a noticeable lag when tapping on notifications, making the phone feel sluggish and interrupting workflows. The October 2024 update addresses this issue, eliminating the delay when interacting with notifications. Now, notifications respond instantly, providing a smoother and more responsive experience that users will appreciate.

A minor but noticeable bug previously caused the Bluetooth icon to remain visible in the status bar even after users had turned off Bluetooth. While this didn’t impact the phone’s performance, it created confusion and an inconsistent experience for users trying to manage their Bluetooth connections. The latest update corrects this issue, so the Bluetooth icon now only appears when Bluetooth is active.

The October 2024 update includes enhancements to both face recognition and fingerprint unlocking systems on the CMF Phone 1. In addition to specific fixes, this update provides general stability enhancements across the system.
