Download Magisk 28.1 APK and ZIP Stable Release

Magisk, the renowned systemless root solution for Android, has just introduced its latest release, Magisk v28.1. Developed by topjohnwu, this is the most popular open-source tool for Android enthusiasts, providing unparalleled capabilities for rooting, modifying, and managing Android devices without compromising the system integrity. Here’s everything new in the new Magisk v28.1 and download the APK or ZIP, as your preference.
What is Magisk?
Magisk is a robust and versatile solution that allows users to:
- Root Android devices without altering the system partition.
- Bypass SafetyNet checks to access apps like Google Pay and Netflix.
- Install Magisk Modules for advanced customizations and enhancements.
- Maintain OTA updates by keeping the system partition untouched.
With the Magisk 28 release, rooting is more stable. The changes are big, while the package size is a bit lighter. The developer recently announced that they are planning to make the switch to RUST, a general-purpose programming language emphasizing performance. We can see the transition happening as the latest update added basic support for RISC-V, but not built into the release just yet.
Besides that, you will find a bunch of optimizations. The Magisk package is smaller, thanks to using a minimal libc to build static executables. It also removed an unnecessary mirror for magic mount and updated boot image detection logic to support more devices.
Magisk 28 is a major update compared to Magisk v27. But version 28 is still beta and should be treated as such. If you are fine with Magisk 27, sick to it. Or get the latest version if you have compatibility issues with your Android device.
The previous updates introduced new code injection mechanism for Zygisk. Read – Magisk introducing Zygisk. It is a Magisk in Zygote. When this feature is enabled, a part of Magisk will run in the Zygote
daemon process, allowing module developers to run code directly in every Android apps’ process. Zygisk is inspired by that project Riru and is functionally similar.
Key Features of Magisk v28.1
This release is a significant update, addressing critical bugs and enhancing compatibility. Let’s explore the highlights:
