[Download] Stable Nothing OS 3.0 Update Rolled Out for Nothing Phone 2 and 2a

The much-anticipated stable release of Nothing OS 3.0 is finally here! Following the successful completion of the Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta Programs for the Phone 2 and Phone 2a, the company has officially rolled out the stable Android 15 firmware update for these devices.

This comes after just two beta updates featuring general bug fixes and system improvements. As we predicted correctly, that was the final update. Today, Nothing Tech released the final stable Nothing OS 3.0 software update for the Nothing Phone 2 and Phone 2a devices.

The full changelog and feature list remains the same from the Open Beta 1 as all the features have already been implemented in the beta program. The Nothing OS 3.0 brings redesign across the system including Homescreen, Lockscreen, Quick Settings, new Smart Drawers, and most of all Android 15 and all of its features.

Shared Widgets is a new way to connect!

One of the most innovative features in Nothing OS 3.0 is Shared Widgets, allowing users to interact with friends and family through shared Photo Widgets on the home screen. While this functionality is currently exclusive to Nothing devices and still in beta, it offers a fresh approach to staying connected.

What’s Included:

• Widget reactions for seamless interaction.
• Limited to photo widgets for now, with more widget types coming soon.

Lock Screen Redesign: Customization is at the forefront of the updated lock screen. Users now have more control over how their lock screens look and function.

Highlights:

• A dedicated customization page accessible via long-press or settings.
• Expanded widget space for added functionality.
• New clock face styles for personalization.

AI-Powered Smart Drawer: Nothing OS 3.0 introduces an AI-powered Smart Drawer that automatically organizes apps into folders, ensuring easy access to frequently used apps. It also supports pinning favorite apps at the top.

Enhanced Multitasking with Pop-Up View: Multitasking gets a significant boost with the Pop-Up View feature. Users can now:

• Drag and resize pop-up windows.
• Pin windows to the screen edge for quick access.
• Enable this feature via Settings > Special features > Pop-Up View.

Visual and Functional Enhancements: The update elevates the overall design and usability of the system. Redesigned Quick Settings and widget library. New fingerprint unlocking and charging animations. Improved lock screen charging status display. Partial screen sharing for recording specific app windows.

How to Install Nothing OS full OTA update zip for Nothing Phone?

• Go to “Settings > About phone > Software info” to confirm that your system has been updated to the latest version (Nothing OS 3.0). If not, please go to “Settings > System > System update” to check for updates.
• Download the latest software update package.
• Create a folder named “ota” (without the quotes) at the root of the internal storage. Meaning outside every folder.
• Copy the OTA update ZIP file from above to that folder.
• Open the phone app and Dial *#*#682#*#*

• The local update tool should launch.
• In the drop-down list that appears, select the upgrade package you just copied.
• Tap the “Directly apply OTA from selection” button to start updating.
• Reboot your device after the upgrade process is complete.
• A pop-up will appear asking if you would like to reboot your device. We strongly recommend selecting “Confirm” here, as upgrades require a reboot to enter the new version.
