Stable GCAM 9.3 is now available for download with features from March 2024 Pixel Feature Drop and some added MODs by the developer BSG. The update to Pixel Camera v9.3 fixed a bunch of critical bugs users have been facing. We now have the newer but stable GCAM 9.3.160 available for download which will work on most Android devices.

Google recently renamed Google Camera to Pixel Camera after the launch of the Pixel 8 Pro. The new Pixel Camera 9.3.160 adds Photo Sphere with some AI features. Video Boost with Night Sight video mode was also added. The most anticipated Photo Unblur has also been implemented with the newer versions of GCAM.

Other features which may be activated in GCAM 9.3 for some Android phones include Night Sight in Time Lapse, improved Portrait Lighting, Ultra HDR, new UI, revamped controls, and 10-bit HDR Video/Ultra HDR Photo on Instagram.

The Photo Sphere feature disappeared for some users in the past updates. Google has added it back into GCAM in the latest camera update enhanced with some AI elements. The Pixel maker is using AI to create new backgrounds in case the photos are misaligned or come out blurry. Or stitching where the image gets cut off.

As for the bug fixes,

  • Fix for camera stability under certain conditions when switching between different zooms *[2]
  • Fix for issue with black halo artifacts appearing under certain conditions in the viewfinder upon transitioning from photo to video mode at 1x zoom *[1]
  • Fix for issue where users are unable to re-expose image after tapping anywhere on the viewfinder *[1]

Fixed the bug where users are unable to re-expose image after tapping anywhere on the viewfinder. Fixed black halo artifacts appearing under certain conditions in the viewfinder upon transitioning from photo to video mode at 1x zoom for all the Pixel phones.

The Pixel Camera, also added 10-bit HDR Video as well as Ultra HDR Photo.
