OpenAI recently released Web Search for ChatGPT to everyone. While that was only for the native chatbot, the Advanced Voice Mode now also gets SearchGPT or Search the Web feature! You can now directly search the web using ChatGPT hands-free using only your voice.

Another great addition that comes to Advanced Voice Mode is the Live Camera feature, at least on iOS. You can now tap the camera icon and start a video chat with ChatGPT. As for Android, you can new Share Screen, Upload Photos, or Take Photos in ChatGPT.

Projects for ChatGPT

OpenAI’s latest addition to ChatGPT — the Projects feature — is a new upgrade to how users can organize and manage their AI conversations. While only available to Plus, Team, and Pro users, Projects serves as a comprehensive organizational tool that brings together conversations, files, and custom instructions in one cohesive space. This will tidy up your workspace and organize all the chats, images, and voice conversations, searches, etc. in one project.

Users can simply click the + button next to Project in the top-right corner of their interface, name their workspace, and begin organizing their content.

One of the standout features of Projects is its robust custom instructions framework. Users can tailor their AI interactions specifically to each project’s needs by selecting “Add instructions” within their Project page.

Users can easily upload files through a drag-and-drop interface or traditional file selection.

While the ChatGPT web interface and Windows app offer full feature access, mobile and macOS users can currently only view and chat within Projects.

To create a new project, click on the + button next to Project on the top-right of the page:

Canvas for Free!

Canvas is now available in ChatGPT-4o by default for all users, Free and Paid. It has been upgraded to a number of new capabilities. Canvas can now be used with GPTs when enabled in the GPT creator. This toggle will be enabled for newly created GPTs by default.

Canvas is best for coding, like Python code execution. You can now paste content into ChatGPT and instantly open it in canvas via a shortcut in the upper right corner of the composer.

Search the Web with ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode

ChatGPT’s introduced new search functionality for the native chat functionality, representing a significant shift from traditional search engines like Google. While ChatGPT now offers web search in the mobile app via chat, the option just popped up in Advanced Voice Mode; at least for Android.

Once you enter Advanced Voice Mode, you will see a microphone icon. This will directly give you the option to Search the web for direct answers and links to trusted sources.

According to OpenAI, it will intelligently switch between regular chat or web search based on user intention. So for tasks like weather report, Stock market data, Sports, Stock market data, etc. it will automatically switch to web search.

OpenAI is focusing more on ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode going beyond just the voice mode. You will see new features popup in Advanced Voice Mode like Live Camera, currently for iPhones and macOS native app.

This could be the introduction of Video Chat for Android and iOS in ChatGPT.
