Following DeepSeek release, OpenAI and Google have been making massive changes and pushing their most advanced AI models early. Following ChatGPT-4o update, Google release their superfast Gemini 2.0 Flash in stable channel.

Gemini recently also received a minimalistic UI refresh when summoned from the homescreen or lockscreen. The new Gemini UI already rolled out for everyone. This comes after it received overlay and Gemini live features.

The Gemini 2.0 Flash is now a stable model designed for speed and enhanced performance. It outperforms its predecessor, Gemini 1.5 Pro, on key benchmarks while maintaining rapid response times. In our testing, it printed the entire response within seconds.

According to Google, 2.0 Flash boasts new capabilities, including multimodal output like native image generation combined with text and steerable multilingual text-to-speech. It can also natively utilize tools like Google Search, code execution, and user-defined functions.

Gemini 2.0 Flash is now available directly for PCs and desktops via browser website, or to developers via the Gemini API in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI. The Gemini app will soon receive it on all Android starting tomorrow.
