NVIDIA Shield Experience 9.2: 10 Years of Android Updates

NVIDIA has once again raised the bar with its latest SHIELD Experience Upgrade 9.2, offering over 10 years of software update for any Android based device ever. The most anticipated 9.2 OTA update for NVIDIA Shield is up on stable channel featuring a host of improvements that cater to audiophiles, movie watchers, and gamers.
The popular NVIDIA SHIELD TV and SHIELD TV PRO are now receiving yet another major firmware upgrade to build 9.2 which mark about a decade of software update support from the manufacturer. No other Android device has ever received such a significant number of software updates. Google and Samsung only recently started offering about 7 years of software updates for their latest flagship phones. It was unheard of until Apple and NVIDIA set a standard.
The SHIELD Experience 9.0 Upgrade brought Android 11 with new features, tons of improvements, and bug fixes. Followed soon by the SHIELD Experience 9.1.1 and 9.1.1 HotFix featuring 4K streaming to Amazon Prime Videos, Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV in 4K Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, and more. Most notably, it supports the next generation of GeForce NOW cloud gaming in 4K HDR.
While NVIDIA shield TV update 9.2 is still based on Android 11, it brings a ton of features from Nvidia and is a consistent upgrade from Android 5.0.
