Samsung One UI 8 GSI ROM Released – Download & Flash on Other Devices

Samsung has surprised users with an early sneak peek of One UI 8, even as One UI 7 is still rolling out to many devices. Oh well, Samsung accidentally leaked the One UI 8 full firmware update, and is now available for download. That’s not all, developers have managed to create GSI images for the One UI 8 and even the One UI 7 build for the community to build ROMS for other devices. Here, get the latest GSI builds for One UI 8 based on Android 16 from Samsung.
Thanks to Mystic GSI Updates we get an early build of One UI 8 GSI build based on the stable Android 16 firmware which got leaked for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 recently; offering a first glimpse into Samsung’s vision for its next-gen software.
What is GSI?
Android GSI (Generic System Image) is a pure, unmodified Android system image built from the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) codebase. It is designed to run on a wide variety of Android devices that support Project Treble, providing a standardized and generic Android implementation without any device-specific customizations from manufacturers.
Although the GSIs are meant to be for the stock AOSP builds, the dev Mystic has managed to create a GSI build for the latest Android 18 firmware from Samsung. So if your device support Project Treble, then you can flash the GSI onto your device. However, you may still need a custom TWRP recovery and a boot or vendor image along with this to work.
How GSIs Work with Project Treble
Project Treble is a modular architecture introduced by Google to separate the Android OS framework from vendor-specific hardware implementations. This separation enables GSIs to run on any Treble-compliant device because the vendor-specific code resides in a separate partition, allowing the generic system image to be updated independently.

What’s should you expect from One UI 8 GSI?
This early hands-on with One UI 8 showcases incremental refinements rather than groundbreaking changes. Samsung is focusing on UI polish, AI integration, and user-centric updates like Quick Share and camera enhancements. While many features are borrowed from One UI 7 or the Galaxy S25 series, the consistency and forward-thinking design language indicate Samsung is preparing One UI 8 to launch faster and more efficiently than previous iterations.
Samsung is actively developing One UI 8 based on Android 16. Early impressions suggest a modest update that maintains most of the One UI 7’s interface, with subtle refinements.
The following changes can be expected:
- Based on Android 16
- “Now Brief” feature from Galaxy AI suite now fully integrated
- Professional Log Video recording added to Pro Video mode
- Redesigned My Files app with larger, simplified folder tiles
- Gallery app updates with more organized menu structure
- Quick Share improvements with better visibility controls and direct file selection
- Minor UI refinements throughout the system
Navigation options, animations, and overall performance remain similar to One UI 7.
