Developers have managed to create GSI images for One UI 7 build for the community to build ROMS for other devices. Thanks to Mystic GSI Updates we get an early build of One UI 7 GSI build based on the stable Android 15 firmware which got leaked for various Galaxy devices including the S24, S23, S22, S21, and more. Here, get the latest GSI builds for One UI 8 based on Android 16 from Samsung.
What is Samsung GSI?
Android GSI (Generic System Image) is a pure, unmodified Android system image built from the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) codebase. Samsung GSI is the same but with Android at the base and all the Samsung apps and features from the latest firmware available at the time. It is designed to run on a wide variety of Android devices that support Project Treble, providing a standardized and generic Android implementation without any device-specific customizations from manufacturers.
Although the GSIs are meant to be for the stock AOSP builds, the dev Mystic has managed to create a GSI build for the latest Android 15 firmware from Samsung. So if your device support Project Treble, then you can flash the GSI onto your device. However, you may still need a custom TWRP recovery and a boot or vendor image along with this to work.
How GSI Work with Project Treble?
Project Treble is a modular architecture introduced by Google to separate the Android OS framework from vendor-specific hardware implementations. This separation enables GSIs to run on any Treble-compliant device because the vendor-specific code resides in a separate partition, allowing the generic system image to be updated independently.

What’s should you expect from One UI 7 GSI?
This early hands-on with One UI 7 showcases incremental refinements rather than groundbreaking changes. Samsung is focusing on UI polish, AI integration, and user-centric updates like Quick Share and camera enhancements. While many features are borrowed from One UI 7 or the Galaxy S25 series, the consistency and forward-thinking design language indicate Samsung is preparing One UI 8 to launch faster and more efficiently than previous iterations.
From our testing, even a 4 GB RAM powered by a 6-year-old Exynos SoC occupies on an average 2.5 GB RAM with apps open in the background. It does not touch the 4 GB mark on a normal operation.
The firmware feel snappy and doesn’t lag at all. This could be due to the developer removing all the bloatware and only keeping the necessary apps. The new animations are mesmerizing. Even while using AI, I didn’t feel laggy at all. Tried most of the Galaxy AI features and they do not consume any excess resources. Gemini and Circle to Search included.
With normal operation, no apps needed optimizations, now high battery drain was detected, no crashes, no high usage of memory.
One UI 7 GSI, is installed on a project treble supported device, may be able to utilize essential apps like Samsung Pay and Google Wallet function smoothly, and core system integrity tests (such as Knox verification and Play integrity) pass without issue—even without the use of root. However, some devices may need to flash it using a custom TRWP recovery and by rooting the device or tripping Knox. In that case, use various ways available to patch the Google Play integrity check via Magisk.
