samsung offers free screen replacement for Green Line issue

As we first reported about the Green Line issue, Samsung may have since changed some policies with enough news coverage and reports by users. Samsung is now offering free one time screen replacement affected with Green Lines on the display for the Galaxy S20 series, Note 20 series, Galaxy S21 series, and Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Samsung India has announced a free one-time screen replacement program for select Galaxy models experiencing the green line issue. This applies even if your warranty has expired, as long as your phone is within 3 years of purchase.

Plus, you get a free battery, OCTA assembly, and a Rework Kit on top of the screen replacement!

Nevertheless, there exists a caveat. There is to be no physical or water damage. You have to register your device until 30th April 2024. Checkout the eligibility criteria here.

Eligibility for a free screen replacement from Samsung

  • Samsung has decided to consider line on display issue even if your warranty has expired and there is no physical or water damage.
  • One-time, free replacement of the OCTA assembly, battery, and a Rework Kit on below mentioned specific models until 30th April 2024.
  • Applicable models: S20/ S20+/ S20 Ultra/ Note20/ Note20 Ultra/ S21 (SM-G991 B)/ S21+ (SM-G996B) / • S21 Ultra (SM-G998B) and S22 Ultra (SM-S908E).
  • This policy is only applicable for phones within 3 years from the date of purchase.

As reported on Twitter, the Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy S22, and S22 Plus seems to have been excluded from the list, which are amongst the highest affected devices.

However, these devices may fall under a different category and may have an extended warranty in place separate from the previous year’s S21 series. As the S21 FE and S22 series were launched in 2022, it is safe to assume they may have extended time for claiming free repair. We will report back on that as soon as we hear from Samsung.

How to claim your free Samsung screen replacement?

If your device falls under the eligibility criteria listed above, then head over to the Samsung Digital Service Center to book an appointment.

Secondly, visit the Galaxy Screen Replacement and contact the customer service immediately.

If you reside outside of India and wish to verify whether Samsung is offering a free screen replacement in your country, kindly visit the Galaxy Screen Replacement country-specific page.

The dissatisfaction amongst users is palpable. All the affected users should express their grievances with Samsung customer support. Despite the firm rejecting or ignoring customer complaints and refusing to cover screen replacements.

As consumers, it’s essential to hold tech companies accountable for delivering products with defect.

If you’re experiencing the green line problem or any other issue with your Samsung device, don’t hesitate to reach out to customer support and advocate for a satisfactory resolution.

How can they exclude S21 FE from S21 series lineup? Samsung’s shitty display issues are similar on all their lineups! S21 FE is affected the most, tried contacting service center, they say S21 FE is excluded. Samsung is really s**t to do something like this!!

Hi Addy. With enough pressure, Samsung will have to provide a free screen replacement as they did for the S21 and S20 series.
